October 2012 Weddings

October 6, 2012 Brides

Okay, ladies! I was just curious to see who else was getting married on October 6?! Any particular reason why you chose this date? Anything unique about it?

My parents 24th anniversary will be October 7th.. I think it's kinda cute that my anniversary will be the day before there's. They will just be 23 years and 364 days ahead of us :0P

I'm getting married in Hatteras, NC. The weather in early October in NC is still 75-80 degrees during the day and around 65 degrees in the evening-- it can't get any more perfect than that!

Looking forward to reading your responses!

  • Here in Canada it's Thanksgiving weekend! Both sides of my family are spread out so I thought it would be nice for everyone to get together. Let the grandparents see their grandkids, that kind of thing. We're serving turkey and ham with all the trimmings at the reception. Also we love the fall and the leaves should be in the middle of changing.

  • We're getting married on October sixth! Mostly we just liked the month of october and the fall season here in ohio and we chose the first weekend because I guess that just sounded good to us, lol. Both of our families have a lot of birthdays and anniversaries in that month as well so I guess that kind of reiterated the fact we were supposed to get married in october, lol.
  • We're getting married October 6th. At first, I was worried it might not be autumn-y enough (I really want our photos to have the changing leaves in them), but I didn't want to do the 13th because it's an unlucky number, and the 20th is one of our best men's birthdays and thought ht might be annoyed (and I want to say it was taken at our venue, anyway?), and I thought by the 27th it might be too cold. It was kind of just the option we were left with.

  • 10/6 bride, here! The short version of why our date is what it is, is that the venue we selected had exactly one date left in October, and that was it. But as a bonus, it's also the same weekend my mother and stepfather got married...AND my FFIL's birthday!

  • 10/6 right here! We just got engaged month ago and I wanted to avoid the hot summer so October it was (this is a second wedding for both of us and I wanted to keep things low key this time around so I didn't need a ton of planning time). Plus, prior to getting engaged we had a cruise planned for mid October so now that will serve as our honeymoon.
  • We chose 10/6 for several reasons. First, it's the day before my 45th birthday, should be easy for my husband-to-be to remember. It's cool enough that the men won't be too hot in their tuxes. It's Columbus Day weekend so my daughter will be able to come home from college to be my MOH. And my daughter just informed me that it's her 2nd anniversary with her boyfriend (so they get to celetrate with us). All around, I think we chose the right date!

  • You have a wonderful reason to choose that date! Our choosing was just kind of random.. I guess since its Columbus Day weekend people have an extra day to recover from the rockin' party ;)

  • Our dating anniversary is October 9 so the entire month of October has always been special to us. Like a pp, I didn't want to get married on the 13th and I felt that later in the month might be a bit too chilly for an outdoor wedding. Early October is perfect in Florida! So that's how we came to October 6!

  • I'm an October 6th bride too!  We wanted to get married in the Fall, but in Colorado the later into October you go, the better the chance for the weather to be iffy.  And we figured that our out-of-town guests could use the extra travel day.
