No longer doing FB updates about the wedding

I have decided that I am no longer going to do FB updates about our wedding.  Someone posted a day or so ago that they received a message from someone after updating that they had sent out their STD's and that someone asked where theirs was.  Extremely rude.

Well, yesterday I posted an update of "8 months until our wedding!" and someone that I haven't spoken to since high school said "If you invite us, we will be more than happy to come."  Well, obviously they aren't invited and I am not even going to respond to that comment.  Even though this isn't that bad of a comment, I want to stay clear of any future possibility of this happening again.  So, sadly, I will no longer be posting status updates about our wedding.

Re: No longer doing FB updates about the wedding

  • I am not a fan of FB in the first place so I think that you are not overreacting at all.  I think that there are too many people that like to start drama and by stopping the WR updates, you also stop the drama from starting.

  • I have not used facebook to discuss the wedding at all, and I have told everyone not to put anything about the wedding on my facebook. Mine is because my parents had a messy divorce when I was a kid, and my dad and his family are on my facebook. They already made comments about not being invited to my bachelors and masters graduations, and then when they saw it switched to engaged they inquired about the date. After they got upset about the graduations, I dont want to have those type of messages on facebook about the wedding.
