Wedding Dress is in!!

I just got a call that my dress is in!  I have to go there today for my last bridesmaid to pick out her dress so it's perfect timing!!  Bad news is I'm having an allergic reaction to my contact solution and my eyelids are super puffy and red.  I'm refusing to try it on until the swelling goes down!  I don't want to look awful the first time I put my dress on..
Did anyone else refuse to try on their dress until they had a chance to make themselves up?

Re: Wedding Dress is in!!

  • Yay for your dress being in!  Oh no about the swollen eyes!

I had a very hectic weekend the day I went to try my dress on after it came in.  My hair was a mess...which was even worse when I had to quickly fix it so that they could put the veil on LOL!  I try to look at those pictures from the neck down LOL!

Honestly, I was just excited to be able to see my dress again and to have my dress on in my size (not 2 sizes too big!).  But eyes being swollen does not sound fun at all, and you want to be able to SEE yourself in your dress!

  • I'm so envious of you girls posting that your dresses are in!  Mine won't be in until probably August!  Ugg.  I think you should wait until you feel comfortable trying it on....and like PP said, can see it!  ;)  Enjoy!!

  • Wahoo! I received the call Friday that my dress was in and if I wasn't dirty and outside scrubbing our siding down I probably would have went in that day. I'm not going to pick it up until Tuesday because thats the first availability that anyone can go with me. However, I am determined to do some major weights for my arms this week to tone up that arm fat ;)

  • My dress also came in on Friday!  What an exciting time for us :)  My try on appointment is next Wednesday, I'm counting down the seconds to see it again!!  Good luck to you all.

For your swollen eye lids, try getting one of those gelly masks that they sell in the pharmacy.  You can make them hot or cold.  Put it in the freezer until it's cold, not frozen, then rest it on your eyes for about 10 minutes.  That should reduce some of the swelling and discomfort.  As soon as the swelling it completely down, put on a giant smile and try on that gorgeous gown!
  • When I went and got mine 2 saturdays ago my left eye was swollen and feeling like someone punched me but it was prescheduled and the only time I could go...

  • I totally cracked and put it on today!!  Just didn't focus on my eyes or look at my face in the mirror.  It fit perfectly just got to hem it a bit because I'm short.
I hope all of you ladies have great dress experiences!!  It was still exciting even though I looked like poo today!
