picking a friends bridesmaids dress

Hello guys. I have a delima and I'm in need of opinions. There is this bridesmaids dress that i wore for a friends wedding 2.5 yrs ago that I'm in love with. I haven't picked my wedding dress yet but if I go with 1 of the 3 alfred angelo dress's I've been looking at for months this bm dress will complement my dress and there is a matching flower girls dress. so all of the girls will have complementing dresses but they are 3 different dresses which I think will be cool. Do you think it's wrong to pick a dress a friend used if it's in a different color? The other problem I have is one of my friends that's in the wedding was in the other girl's wedding so she will have the same dress in 2 different color's of blue. What do you all think?

I don't think there's anything wrong with using the same dress that your friend used for her wedding. If anything you're just complimenting her good taste, lol. My biggest concern is for the girl that will now have two of these dresses... Is that going to bother her? I would at least bring up the idea to her and see what she says. Not to say that her opinion should be the final decision, but at least in the interest of being considerate.

O, and if you are having three different dresses, if I am reading this right... She just doesn't buy that dress. Get her another one.

I think it depends on your friend.  Is the friend in your wedding?  I personally wouldn't care and would take it as a compliment that you really liked the BM dresses I picked.  Sometimes people are touchy about things like this though, so you might want to just ask her if she would mind.  You two and the other BM who was in both weddings are probably the only ones who will even notice.

I think that it will be okay.  its been 2.5 years and it will be in a different color.  Probably the only ones that will remember are the ones who wore the dress and the bride.  I have been in 2 weddings with the same dress in different colors.  It was a gorgeous dress and if I was in another wedding and the bride chose that dress, I would have no problem getting it again.

Imitation is the best form of flattery  If you're that worried about I would talk to her just to make sure she doesn't feel like you're "stealing" her idea, although I doubt any reasonable person would have an issue with it.  I think that since you're choosing the dresses in a different color and assuming that the rest of your wedding isn't exactly like hers she should be fine!

Ya everything else will be different and I'm only having one BM dress, I mean't if I chose one of the 3 bridal dresses I've got my eye set on, this BM dress will compliment my dress and the flower girl dress. We will have different dresses (bride, BM and FG) but they will be similar and complement each other. The Bride did remind me her dress was Alfred Angelo so I don't know if she care's I'm looking at the same brand. I'll ask them both, they will both be in my wedding but I don't think the BM who was in her wedding and will be in mine won't care if she has the same dress in 2 different color's since she NEVER wears dresses! She will never wear anyting I pick ever again most likely so it doesn't matter. thanks for the opinion's.
