Our numbers and final payment were due yesterday. We can only add to our numbers not subtract....

I'm sorry to hear that.  I think I'm getting one tonight.

If it makes you feel better, my brother got 2 as he was stopped at the light pulling out of his venue after paying and giving his final number.

Quite a few"we'll be there!" Now won't. I'm disappointed, but its ok. I still get to marry the love of my life!

I guess that comes with the territory of guest lists.  Hope no one else drops out!  Luckily our dinner is not very expensive so it's easier for me to deal with no shows than if our dinner cost $50+ per plate!

There are quite honestly a few people that I'm worried about forgetting about the whole thing and not showing. FIs great aunt and uncle are also saying they might not be able to make it (although it's due to medical issues so that's different). The whole money down the drain thing is just a touch hard to swallow.

<div>Yup!  This happened to us the other day too!  We also are not able to subtract from our number (but can add).  I actually posted about this issue too, I was pretty pissed.  It was FSIL's boyfriend who we had to invite, but we never met the guy.  We turned in our numbers this past weekend and she texts FI the other day and says he can't come even though she RSVPed for him.  Um, yeah.  I'm glad I just dropped $100+ on some dude we've never met and who won't be there.  Yeah, thanks because I can't find a better use for that money.  :p</div>

yeah, it turns out this kid RSVPed that he was bringing a date, but never actually had anyone in mind, he was just planning on findng someone to go with him. He called last night to tell us he couldn't find anyone to go so he wouldn't be bringing a date afterall. I could have reached through the phone and punched him. I mean it's just one person, but still...and on his invite we did not include "and guest" so he was already inviting someone not invited in the first place.
