New to October 2012

We've been engaged since September 1st, 2010, but we only recently set our date. We decided to have the wedding on October 20, 2012. There really isn't a special meaning or reason behind picking this date, but we couldn't go for the 13th because my aunt works in a jewelry store and she's obligated to work on Sweetest Day. Plus, 20 is a nice, round number.

Thanks Sam+Billy for letting me know that the 20th is Sweetest Day. We may have to end up changing that, then. For some reason, I was thinking that Sweetest Day was the 2nd weekend in October.

Okay, well, we're keeping the date, but hoping that my aunt can make it, at least for a little bit. Our wedding colors are Eggplant (dark purple) and Burnt Orange, but we're also incorporating the rest of the Fall color scheme into the wedding details. We don't really have a "theme" for the wedding, except maybe a general Fall theme.

My fiance, Jake, and I met in college. We actually went to high school together but never really hung out because we had different crowds of friends. But we ended up going to the same college and we started hanging out at the end of our 1st qaurter there, and we started dating a few months after that.

As of this March 13th, we've been together for 5 years. It'll be a little over 6 1/2 years by the time we "tie the knot".
