Invite oversight - I feel so bad

We TOTALLY missed sending an invite to FI's aunt, who he lived with for parts of his life and I haven't had the chance to meet yet since she lives across the country.  She got the STD, so she knew it was coming.  But I still feel so badly.  Luckily I caught the oversight when I was playing with the seating chart today.  I was looking for her name assuming it was in there and it wasn't... which prompted the investigation.

FMIL thinks she is already making arrangments to come for the wedding, so getting the invite a couple weeks late is OK.  I guess we are still within 6 weeks.  That part makes me feel a little better.

I'm going to start breathing now...

  • I forgot to send invites to my parents, brother and sister, how bad is that?? When everyone had gotten their invites and my parents had nothing my dad started going around saying he must not be invited. I realized it when I went to make a spreadsheet for RSVP responses after I started getting a few back. I used my envelope address file to check names (I printed on the envelopes lightly in a nice font then traced over) and noticed my immediate family's addresses weren't in there! I didn't include them in my original address gathering list cuz I knew theirs off by heart, but then I just copied and pasted not thinking to add them in. I quickly made up invites and ran it over to them when I realized! Haha

My father would have a (humorous) field day with that one if he didn't get an invite.   From what I heard I think the STD helped 'save the day'.

  • Do not feel bad! I forgot to send an email to my uncle until my grandma mentioned it to me one day, "Uncle S. didn't get an invite - I'm guessing it got lost in the mail?"

Ummm yes, grandma, that's exactly what happened!

I never even sent him a save-the-date! Oopsy!
