Reception Card Wording

I'm stuck on how to word the reception cards.  The default is:

please join us for
cocktails, dinner, and dancing
at six o'clock in the evening
[location information]

I don't really like the "please join us for"; is there a good way to work in the word celebrate while still keeping it formal? Thanks ladies!

Re: Reception Card Wording

  • How about
"The celebration continues with cocktails, dinner and dancing"
    or
"The pleasure of your company is requested at the reception for cocktails, dinner and dancing"
here is a website that has a bunch of ideas.

Sorry that I posted a bunch. I hope this actually helps lol

  • I see cocktails, dinner and dancing a lot, but I asked a while ago on Etiquette or Invites and they said it should be:

Please join us for a reception beginning at four o'clock in the afternoon (or whatever your time is)

    (address)

I don't have any issues with other wording (find a lot of the fuss placed on certain words silly), but just an FYI if you are trying to keep it formal.

  • Thank you ladies! I ended up being super impatient last night and just ordered them with the default.  I might be able to change it with the proof, but I'm not sure.
