rude?

yesterday was christmas and i know this sounds bad but being around parts of my extended family reminds me how much i strongly dislike them. i was talking to my FI today and he mentioned that he doesnt want them to be at the wedding or the reception because they are loud and rude not to mention my lack of liking them.

i dont want to be rude and only invite some of my moms family but on the other hand i have seen them at other weddings and i would die if they acted out at mine.

im really torn because i dont want to have more conflict in the family.

It is your wedding and if you feel like there is going to be a problem then stop it before it happens. I am going to tell you that I am NOT having most of my immediate family let alone extended family there (long story) It's just going to be my Dad, my Brother, My sister and my Dad's girlfriend.. that's it. No need in trying to please anyone this should be a day to remember ...but in a good way

i stronly agree with the above posts. it is your wedding, invite who you want.  if you know they might put a damper on the day, i wouldnt bother.

My FI and I are having a very similar issue right now...we are actually think that we might elope or bring just our immediate family with us! Still just throwing that idea around, but it's very tempting!
