PSA: Contest to win $150 toward wedding stationary with MagnetStreet Weddings!

Hello Ladies!

I don't know when you all plan on ordering your invitations, but if you haven't yet and don't plan to do so til after next month, MagnetStreet Weddings is running a contest to win $150 toward any wedding stationary from them.

The contest ends May 24.... all you need to do is fill out when you're getting married and what stationary you like. Super easy! I figured I'd share with my fellow October brides (I'm not active on this board) and hopefully one of us will be able to save some money on invitations (or whatever stationary you choose)!

Click here. It will take you to FaceBook where you have also have to "Like" their page before you enter.

Good luck ladies! :)

  • To whom it may concern: I am reaching out to let you know about my unbelievable story of how fate brings two people together.  This is a story of humble beginnings, chance encounters and proof that fairy tales do come true! It’s not often that men submit stories such as this, so I hope you enjoy it.It all started back in the 70’s, when things were simple and innocent.  In the small town of Wilson NC, a little girl named Artice, 4 years old at the time, told her mom that she had a crush on a little boy in her preschool class.  At the preschool graduation, she made sure her mom took her picture with this little boy for her to treasure, never knowing if she would every see him again.  Sure enough, Artice goes to elementary and junior high never seeing that little boy and soon forgets all about it.  I met Artice through mutual friends in high school.  We had soon afterwards become acquaintances.  I even gave her one of my high school pictures with the caption, ‘You know you like it’ scribbled on the back. (This was another photo she kept to this day)  We graduated our separate high schools and went our separate ways.  She went to North Carolina A&T and settled in Dallas, Texas, and after college I chose to serve my country in the Army, settling in Atlanta, Georgia.  Through the wonder of Face Book and mutual friends, I recognized her profile picture and we began to correspond.  I convinced her to come to Atlanta for a visit and we hit it off!!!  With flights back and forth from Atlanta to Dallas our relationship blossomed. One day during a phone conversation, we discovered we went to the same preschool.  She asked her mom to send the pic of her and the little boy she had her preschool crush on to see if I knew who he was. Her mom sent the picture through her phone and it was blurry and out of focus.  I couldn’t make it out.  As we grew closer, we decided that we would introduce one another to our families and Thanksgiving would be the best time.  I introduced Artice to my grandma, who has since passed, and my grandma told me that she was “the one”.  Artice’s family took to me as well.  When we got to her family’s house, I almost didn’t speak because I was still so curious about the picture her mom sent.  Her mom gave us the picture and it resembled someone I knew but I wasn’t quite sure if it was actually me.  I took the picture over to my Mom’s house to confirm. She pulled out her photo album and had the same pictures of us  at our  preschool  graduation!!!   Sure enough, IT WAS A PICTURE OF HER AND I IN PRESCHOOL TOGETHER!!! I was her preschool crush!!!It was a year to the day the next Thanksgiving holiday when Artice and I travelled back home to visit our families.  During that year we consolidated our lives, and are both living in Atlanta, Georgia.  Back home in Wilson, NC, I coordinated with both of my sisters to stage a family photo shoot for both of our families.    As she and I were taking profile pictures looking into the light, I surprised her with her engagement ring and marriage proposal with all the families present to witness!  She happily accepted and we are planning to be wed November 2012!We would love to share our story!  Everyone has heard of high school or college sweethearts, but PRESCHOOL SWEETHEARTS, that is rare indeed!!  This would be a wonderful opportunity to show your viewership an inspiration story of Love and the ties that bind us all.  Please consider our story as a submission to participate in your show. Thank you in advance for your consideration,Jerry Devon Reid
