DC Bridal Expo &quot;Winner&quot;- Gimick?

Hi All- I tend to be cynical at times and am assuming that it is a gimick... but I'd thought I'd check with you all to be sure...I got a message from a Joanna from Chevro? (couldn't understand on the message). She said that I won a trip and bridal package by filling out my registration card at the door... anyone know what this is about? How many of you have got that call before?TIA!

I'm about to post about this!! I went to the expo and I got a call from Chef World saying I wont a trip and grocery voucher from my registration card at the door... I have to pick up my package this week. Apparently it's a high pressure marketting tactic, but allegedly not a scam. I need to ask my mom and fiance.....

Google the phone number. A lot of times if its a scam the number will show up in posts people have made about the scam.

Fi and I won a trip at a wine show last year. It was a high-pressure marketing tool to get people to buy a timeshare. The trip was for two nights to Williamsburg, VA, and we had to sit in a "90 minute presentation" - it ended up being more like three hours, and put a certain sum of money up front to secure the deal - which was reimbursed. But it was fun to go to Williamsburg. We did not end up buying the timeshare, but I'm sure some people did. It could be similar, just make sure you get all of the information first.

They are usually all gimmicks. You have to come to some seminar, listen to some high pressure sales pitch for a time share or special cookware or something. I found out from other people when I started getting those same calls. I just couldn't believe I had won about four different things from one bridal show, lol. The only prizes I actually claim when winning are the ones that they post AT the show who the winners are. I won a free engagement photo session... SCORE!!!
