Dahlonega Area Hotel/ Inn/ Cabin Rental Accomodations

I am looking for Dahlonega area accomodations for 75 guests. Any suggestions on nice (three stars or more) hotels, bed and breakfasts, or inns would be appreciated. We are open to having guests at multiple locations, so one b&b doesn't have to hold all 75 guests.

I'm also playing around with the idea of guests renting cabins which is a sort of tradition with our friends; ideally we would be able to get a group of cabins near each other. If anyone has done this please let me know how you organized it, thanks!

Check out www.vrbo.com  for vacation rentals. My future in-laws are coming in from New Mexico and were able to secure a really nice week-long rental at Lake Rental.

Most of the rentals are done individually but it might help you get some ideas.

Sorry, but there are no "nice" three stars or higher hotels in the Dahlonega area.  I am having our wedding there in 6 days, and I lived there for several years.  The B&Bs there don't hold 75 guests (just like you said.)  You would have to look at rooms to several B&Bs, and expect to pay $180+ per night with a two-night minimum.  Also, keep in mind, that Spring - late Fall will be higher rates due to the festivals and then the fall foliage changes.

Here is what we are doing........

    1. There is a vacation home for rent on http://www.vrbo.com in Dahlonega that sleeps up to 12 people.  My parents are renting that for our immediate family.

    2. Our bridal party and several guests (as well as my FI and I for our wedding night) are renting cabins at http://www.cavendercreekcabins.com  There are ten cabins in total ranging from 1-2 guests up to 6 guests in each cabin.  There is also a "recreation cabin" on site if you wanted to have your guests do breakfast or something together on-site.

    3. There is Dahlonega Spa & Resort as well, and I can't remember how many guest rooms they have.  It's a beautiful location, but our guests chose not to stay there as there are no televisions, etc. anywhere on the property to keep with the "serenity of the mountains."  I have several guests with sleeping disorders and health problems that often stay up late or are woken up due to health problems.  Sitting in a dark room without at least a television was not their cup of tea.

There ARE hotels in Dahlonega, but....they are not exactly "3-stars or higher.)  The majority are around 2-stars, and there are some that are 1-star.

When my parents used to come visit me when I lived up there and lived in a small cabin, they would stay in Dawsonville.  It's about 25 minutes from Dahlonega or so.  There are a few hotels there, and they are better quality than the ones in Dahlonega.  PLUS....they are sometimes cheaper.

Another option would be guests staying in Gainesville, but that's a heck of a drive, and if alcohol is part of your wedding, well - Gainesville and Dawsonville may not be viable options.

I have two wedding guests staying at other B&Bs in Dahlonega, but I can't remember the names of them.  They are also up in the mountains (off Highway 19N) and are very twisty roads.  Neither one of them will be drinking alcohol at our wedding.

Feel free to PM me with any additional questions about Dahlonega including venues, etc.
