Glendalough Manor

My fiance and I are considering getting married at Glendalough Manor in Tyrone, Ga.  Has anybody heard anything about this venue?

I looked at the venue and its beautiful. For the amount of people we were having, it was going to be at the tip top of our budget but it would have been worth it.  At Glendalough, we were told that we would get married outside and their rain contingency plan wasn't sufficient enough for me.

I looked at them online, and the venue looked beautiful, but when I actually tried to set up an appointment to go see the place they were really rude to me.  It turned me off so much that I crossed them off my list completely.  I mean if they couldn't be decent to me when they were trying to win my business how would they treat me after they had me locked into a contract?I've also heard that since they have four weddings every night, it can be confusing for your guests, and you will be able to hear the music/announcements of the other weddings during yours.

It was one of the places that we seriously considered but it was more than we wanted to pay.  There are lots of other places in Fayette county for outdoor weddings.  There are country clubs.  There is also Dunaway Gardens.  Yes, someone who works at one of the hotels in that area told me that Glendalous usually has numerous events in a day so you can feel a little rushed.  I don't know how true that is.  Beautiful place, though.

Just wanted to add that the country clubs and Dunaway Gardens were less than Glendalough, and more spacious.  It's beautiful outside but everything is kind of in one semi-smallish area and it's not the kind of place that has really expansive grounds, as it is near a commercial area.  But once you get there, you forget about the other commercial nearby.  Just a few other thoughts.  You should check it out.  We had the appointment where they do the budget for you, etc.

While I don't have any actual experience, a friend of my Mom's who lives in Tyrone, told me that the ladies that run the place have been known to be snippy and rude. Glendalough was a consideration for us as well, but we decided to get married elsewhere.

I got married there. It rained and we had to get married indoors because the weather was too bad to do it outside under their pavillion. The other wedding was moved indoors so we saw the other bride, bridal party, guests...It was awkward. The venue was nice though.
