AW: We have cake!!

This is one thing that has been stressing me (and my mom!) out because we are getting close to the wedding. Last Thursday, we booked our baker! We decided on a 5 tier cake sized 18", 15", 12", 9" and 6". Every other tier starting from the bottom (so 1, 3, and 5) will be yellow cake, with a peach filling, and cream cheese icing. The other two layers (plus 1/2 sheet cake) will be chocolate cake with either a Kahlua or Amaretto filling and cream cheese icing. PIB if you want to see the design! The peach filling was so good that my mom kept licking the plate! I am so excited about our cake. We still have to do another tasting for the Kahlua and Amaretto fillings because I didn't know our baker could make them when I scheduled our tasting. What is everyone else doing for your cake?

    Well Im actually more excited about FI's grooms cake. Mine is 4 tier. The bottom will be square then followed by circle then square again...you get it. Each layer is going to be decorated different...one is going to look like lace....one is going to have dots.....one is going to look like foil overlay.....and a bow on the bottom. It is going to be white chocolate rasberry...my favorite!!  My FI works out A LOT so we wanted to incorporate this so his cake will actually be a workout bench with a bar also. She is going to add little things like a towel and water bottle to add to it. So excited! Congrats on bookin your baker!! When is your wedding?

    I can't wait for my cake!!  4 tiers, round, purple ribbon lining the layers with silver scrolls on the sides, our monogrammed "G" on top with purple orchids cascading down the sides.  The flavors are 2 layers of strawberry cake with strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting and the other 2 teirs are lemon pund cake with rasberry filling and cream cheese icing.  MMMM!!!  Makes my mouth water thinking about it!

    where did you get your cakes from? right now we are looking at just getting a cake from publix. my wedding is february 20th too!!

    The bridal cake will be white, chocolate, and almond cake with cookies and cream and raspberry fillings. Its going be 4 tiers (one fake) and all crazy different sizes. PIB Our grooms cake is red velvet with cream cheese filling. Its going to be a Panthers cake...FIs favorite team!

    What bakeries did you all go with? Is everyone having a groom's cake? We're not, my fiance and a lot of West coasters have never heard of the tradition. But I'm excited about our real cake: 4 round tiers, stacked, traditional buttercream (white), 2 tiers vanilla, 2 tiers almond, all tiers have double filling of rasberry mousse and puree, each tier designed to match: my ring, the venue, my dress, the wedding theme :) Thank you Ramona @ The Perfect Wedding Cake (aka Unforgettable Cakes)!
