What to put in gift bags for out of town guests! Need ideas!

I need ideas of what to put in gift bags for our out of town guests. My fiance and I have "debated" over water bottles. He thinks we should not have custom labels. He said guests will want a name brand water. Our wedding is in Atlanta. I immediately thought of Georgia Peanuts! He said no because our they will get peanuts on the plane ride down.

He thought of wine bottles from a winery we visited last weekend. I think it would be too expensive and clumsy. We are doing chocolates at the reception so we do not want to include more chocolate in the guest bags.

I NEED IDEAS! Please provide your suggestions.

Thanks,

Melanie

This was on a former knotties bio, Bridemoto.

"The contents of our OOT Bags. On our coordinator's recommendation, we went to the
Atlanta Visitors Center at Underground and picked up Atlanta materials. My DH made all
of the maps to wedding event places. We bought specialty Georgia items at the
Dekalb Farmer' Market and tied them in small bags with a monogramed tag (Dried peaches,
peanuts, etc). Each bag had a hand written welcome note and an extra treat specific to the person.

Some had sports stuff and some had other specialty treats like Peach Buds or Peacan Rolls. "

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

Thanks!  I never even thought about the Farmers mkt.  Could save money there too.

I think anything w/ peaches or pecans. There are lot of cute shops that sell preserves and candies that represent Georgia well

I'm looking for Ga. items too and I'm also going to include bottles of water, maps, itinerary of wedding events, hand sanitizer, and tylenol!

We got married here and didn't put a GA item in ;), but know it's a common/great idea.   Definitely the water bottles, but not sure I'd do customized label..seems like kind of waste of $.  We put in gum, mints, assorted snacks, etc, but had to be really careful b/c some guests have severe peanut allergies, so nothing could be in the bags that contained peanuts.  Also, wedding weekend itinerary and a hand (typed) written note welcoming/thanking them for the coming, directions to/from venues and detailed information what was close by.

We're going to put: 2 bottles of water, a salty snack (like chex mix), a chocolately snack (M&Ms maybe?), some maps/info about nearby restaurants, and an ATL item of some sort.  I'm looking at Coke items, like maybe plastic tumblers?

Maybe a couple of glass Coke bottles?  That says Atlanta to me.

dollar tree has glass coke drinking glasses; from small to big- very cheap!  They are heavy and look really nice.  My fiance and I were actually looking to buy some at the world of Coke and they were about $3-$7.  And then we went to dollartree and found the exact same glasses for $1!!!! We used them for our engagement party favors but they could be nice welcome basket additions as well.
