Hi all-

I've read some of the posts about venues on a budget but I was hoping I could get input for you all that fit my specifics. We will have about 100 guests and would like to spend about $7,000 (give or take $1k) with venue rental, food (open to buffet/stations/sit down), cake and alcohol. I'd be fine with an all inclusive place or one that let's you pick caterers or bring your own (in those cases the venue rental should not exceed $2k). We're hoping for a Sat wedding but we'd be willing to do a Sunday wedding if that would help shave costs. Ideally an indoor/outdoor venue. Thanks all for your help!

Roswell River Landing!! I'm getting married there... and I absolutely love the place... it's beautiful! Especially if you like that water.... it's right on the Chattahoochee River. Currently the rental fee for a Saturday is $900 plus a $500 deposit... so that makes it $1400 total to rent it out... but you'll get the deposit back so long as you do not do any damage to the venue. So in reality, you're only paying $900.   

Also, they ONLY provide the venue space (for the whole day from 8AM-2AM) and tables/chairs. It's still a great bargain I believe... bring in whatever vendors you want!

Ditto pp.  I too am getting married at RRL and am SO excited!  It's really a blank slate, and you have to be willing to do all the decorating yourself or hire someone, but the venue rental comes with tables and chairs and you get the entire facility for the whole day.  It has a kitchen with an ice machine too, so you or your caterer has somewhere to store/prepare food.  Debbie the manager is so nice and has tons of pictures of previous weddings held there.  One of the weddings there was even featured in The Knot Georgia magazine a while ago.  HTH!

I tried to click to send you a private message, send me one, I can offer you a lot of advice. My fiance and I are doing about the same number people, same budget, and we've been looking into things for a while now and are about to narrow ours down. I'd love to share my findings.

I would love to get some of the information you have gathered.  I am planning for May 27, 2012, and looking for some place that will accomodate at least 125 and at most 150 guests with an inside reception and in/outside ceremony.  I was hoping to carry in my own caterer and alcohol, and have all my guests eating in the same room but that is proving to be a challenge.  

I live in Conyers so was hoping for some place within the Stone Mountain, Snellville area or inside of Atlanta.  I loved Vines Mansion, but my fiance is not happy with people sitting in separate rooms as he thinks it takes away from their participation in the activities, and I have to agree with him. I liked Villa Serena if I was planning on an outdoor event, loved Wimbish House, but they have the Satruday and not the Sunday of that weekend open.  I am heading to check out the Venetian Room this weekend, but would love to see some other options.
