Aveda Institute for hair and Makeup?

I read on another board that a bride went to an Aveda Institute to get her hair and makeup done for her wedding day. Has anyone else tried this? I'm having alot of trouble trying to find someone to do hair and make-up and this sounds really tempting costwise, but the lack of trials makes me nervous and what if they mess up? What do you think?

I was thinking the same thing.  I have been getting my hair done at the Aveda Institute for years and have been thinking that I'll probably get my wedding hair and makeup done there as well.  It's just so affordable!  Plus it's convenient to the interstate and I've seen plenty of bridal parties getting primped there.  If you're worried about trial runs why not just book a few appointments?  Don't other salons charge for trial runs?

I'm not really sure how they work, would the same stylist be there from trial to wedding day?

Yes, well, you can request the same stylist and she'll be there as long as she hasn't graduated yet.  I've been seeing a girl named Brooke, she's really good and likes doing different styles than your typical updo.  I'd just call and give them an idea of what you're looking for and ask that they suggest a student.  Plus, if the stylist you're seeing does graduate, they're all friends, just ask that student to suggest another student for you to see.
