Cocktail Hour.. $2000.00 Rental Fee??

Ok.. I have a wedding planner and she found this fabulous space that would be the ideal location for my wedding... no need to have 2 separate venues.. so the deal is.. I can have my ceremony in the beautiful space in the venue for 750... cocktails in the outdoor cabana space that rents for 2000.... and the my reception in another space that rents for 1500, and this space has an outdoor garden that's included in the rental... Now the issues is the cabana for 2000 for just cocktail... I don't think I should pay 2000 since I am not using the space for the entire evening.. I think the 2000 should be applied only if I am using it for the full time while I am there.. suggestions and comments are welcomed, thanks

First of all you should talk to your planner - what does she think? Otherwise, just use the reception site for the cocktail hour. You can have a table set up in that nice little outdoor garden space.
Just think, that's $2000 that you can use on more food, better favors, a photography upgrade or maybe.....a relaxing mani-pedi for you and the BMs, MOH, MOB, and FMIL  Wink

I voted #1, but if she cannot get the rate lowered, I say go with the reception space for cocktails. $2000 for 1 hour is a but ridiculous!

I voted for option 1 as well. $2000 for an hour would not be coming out of my pocket. I would get your planner to see what other options might be available. GL!
