Ok this may get a little long.
Getting married April 2, 2011. I have lived here for 5 years but all of my family is back home in Cleveland, Ohio so I am doing with this with very little help. My aunt flew down this week to help me get some things done.
I officially booked my venue. Little Gardens in Lawrenceville for a daytime ceremony and reception.
I ordered my dress from....wait for it........Bride Beautiful.
When I first started dress shopping I went to places like Davids Bridal, Anya, and Bridal Sense. I had great experiences but just couldnt find anything that I really liked. After the frustration set in I was all set to give up but decided to check out Sweet Elegance in Downtown Decatur. The dresses were amazing and my first consultant was a young high school girl that was really sweet. She listened to me and brought me great dresses. Well one dress was outside of my price range but I really liked it. I took my aunt there this weekend to help me decide between my two favorite dresses. The young lady that assisted me was not there (she had prom), the ladies that were there caused me to have a terrible experience. They were very pushy. They told me that I was way behind because I should have ordered my dress by now. They suggested that I skip having alcohol at the reception to be able to afford the dress. My aunt made the mistake of asking who the designer was and the lady got upset and told her that they are very exclusive and did not tell the name of their designers because they offer the best price. I asked if we could try to find another dress in a similar style but a little less expensive. The lady looked at me and said "here you look around"(in a very rude tone). They were just not at all friendly I could go on and on about the things they said to us but I rather speak on my good experiences.
I then went to Bride Beautiful (on a Saturday, and without an appointment). They were very busy, but went out of their way to accomodate me. I was helped by an older lady named Wanda. She was very sweet. She listened to my horror story and promised to renew my faith in the bridal industry, lol. We tried 5 dresses. I loooooved 1 an my aunt loved a different one. We then went to Wedding Angles in Roswell. They truly were angles. It was such a relaxed feel. I tried on 6 dresses and liked 3 of them. And they fed us cake!!! We laughed and had a great time there, but I could not forget the dress at Bride Beautiful. Today we went back to Bride Beautiful with my FMIL and I ordered my dress.
I would recommend Wanda at Bride Beautiful and anyone at Wedding Angels! Sweet Elegance lost my business not because of the cost of the dress but because of the treatment that I received.
2 MAJOR checks done. Yay!!!
