NWR: New to the Area & have a question!

Hello! My husband and I recently moved to Augusta and for our anniversary in August we were wanting to drive over to Atlanta and stay the night. Is there a particular area of Atlanta that would be better to look for a hotel in? We'd be looking for a hotel near good restaurants, good shopping, that sort of thing.

Any tips would really help! Thanks!!

I had a friend who statyed at Atlantic Station a few weeks ago. I don't know the name of the hotel, but there is a bunch of restaurants and shops there. I would at least check it out. Otherwise, their are lots of options in Midtown/Downtown too. GL HTH!

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

Atlantic Station is a great place. Twelve Hotel is a really nice hotel. Also Dunwoody. There are tons of hotels to choose from as well as a shopping and restaurants.

Be careful with some of the hotels around Dunwoody and Buckhead though.  Friends of ours were robbed when a guy broke into their hotel room(somehow he managed to have a key for the room) WHILE they were in it.

I'd recommend Atlantic Station as well.

decatur is a little more low-key than atlantic station/midtown, has tons of good restaurants and shopping, and is very walkable!

I would look into the W at Midtown, it's infamous now for those girls who fell of one of the windows but there are a bunch of restaurants and things right there, walking distance to peidmont park and cab to some of the hot spots is not that bad at all. My fiance and I stayed there to celebrate my birthday and had a blast!
