Need Atlanta Knotties help (please)!

Hey Knotties,
I need your expertise. I’m looking for the best place to take photos in the Atlanta area. This can be wedding or engagement photos. Also, tell me why. Does the place have great lighting? Filled with nature? Modern buildings? What makes it unique to where you live and why would someone want to take wedding-related photos there? I’ll be using your Knot name, btw.
Thanks in advance!

Little Five Points is a great area to take pics... there is always a very diverse group of people, lots of interesting shops and buildings, and some really neat graffiti. There are also some new modern buildings (mainly apartments and such) just outside of Little 5 that would make interesting backgrounds.
Also, downtown near Underground Atlanta, The World of Coke, and Centennial Olympic Park because they are Atlanta Landmarks.
As for outdoors and nature, lotts of people go with Piedmont Park, there are tons of beautiful places and with the Atlanta skyline as a backdrop.

    Hope this helps!!

Piedmont Park is a great places for pictures. There is a small lake with benches and swings beside it with Midtown skyline as the background, a diverse crowd of people, trees and flowers, a playground, interesting architecture, a gazebo and you can even bring your dog (or bird or snake or ferret - pretty much anything goes). I can't think of any place with a greater diversity of settings, lighting and beautiful places in the area. It is actually quite romantic.

I agree with Piedmont Park.  The lighting is great because it is outside, and there are hundreds of great places to take pictures!  There is a lake, small docks, trees you can climb (yes, we did this in one engagement pic) and beautiful stone walls and steps that are great for backdrops.  You can get the Atlanta syline from many areas in the park for a backdrop as well.  My favorite part is the modern playground.  The Play equipment pieces are like works of art that you can just have fun with!

For any ATL knottie its great because you can actaully have your city as your backdrop.

I second Little Five Points and Piedmont Park.  We're going to take our engagement pics at Piedmont Park this Sunday!

An alternative to Piedmont Park is Lenox Park in Buckhead. It's scenic and not nearly as crowded as Piedmont Park. There's a beautiful bridge, lots of lush, open green space, a very retro red phone booth, soaring trees, a great lake, some benches, and a few private homes and office buildings in the backdrop. It's where we did our first engagement photos.

We did our engagement photos at Sweetwater Park ( off Thornton rd, towards Six Flags). Great lighting and lots of different scenery. With the streams, rock formations, trees, various trails, and numerous, great outdoor photo opps. We also did this location because we wanted something other than Piedmont Park (lots of couples do e-pics here). I also, second lenox park. It's not as crowded and has different photo opportunities.
And, finally, Lullwater Park near Emory. It has a  lake, lush green lawn, trees, and many walking trails. Hope this helps.

Stone Mountain is great because there are so many different backdrops you could use!  Water, Mountain, City in the background. Only like $10 for parking.
