BM Dress Dilemma

I am wearing a trumpet/mermaid style dress for my wedding, but I'm not sure what kind of dress to put my one and only bridesmaid in. Should it be a long gown like mine or something short?

    Maybe you guys should go together for her to try on some dresses and find one that she likes and feels comfortable in and is in her price range. Since you don't have any other bridesmaids, you won't have to worry about matching with anyone and you'll be able to please your entire wedding party : )

    Well, you don't necessarily have to do a long dress. Most brides wear long dresses and yet their BM's still wear short dresses. I think it's more about the feel of the wedding. Is it more casual or formal?
