The Fox/Gowns

Hey ya'll. We are thinking of getting married at the Fox Theater. Has anyone been to a wedding there? I'm curious what the guest do as they flip the room from a ceremony to a reception? Do they just wander the streets while the room is being changed??

Also, has anyone been to the Bridal by Lori bridal salon? I have about 2,000 to spend on the dress and am not too impressed with what I see on their website. They all seem VERY expensive! What about the shop on Peachtree, not sure of the name. Intersection of Peachtree and Piedmont...Thanks for any help!

Bride Beautiful seems to be a popular spot for brides on this board. It is in Sandy Springs/ Roswell area. I think the general concensus is the Bridal by Lor is expensive, but the shop is cute :) I would go in and check it out as they have LOTS to chose from. I don't know anything about The Fox regarding weddings, so can't help you there. HTH and GL!

I wonder if Prince William and Kate are registered at Target?

I went to Bridal by Lori first before going anywhere else.  I had a fabulous experience there and was able to try on a ton of dresses and they weren't pushy at all.  It really gave me a good idea of what styles I liked best on me.  As far as budget goes, it is expensive but with 2K you may be able to find some in that range, especially if they're having a trunk show.  I ended up getting my dress at Bride Beautiful and totally recommend checking them out!

I have a good friend getting married at the Fox next month.  She's getting married out on the terrace, then the reception would be inside, so there isn't actually a flip of the room happening.  I know they have a lot of options, you should just give them a call or shoot them an email for more info on specifics.

I got my dress at Sweet Elegance. My budget was about the same as yours, and Amy did a great job of finding a dress well under budget that I love! Then I had plenty left over for the rest of my look--veil, shoes, alterations, etc.

I went to Kelly's Closet first--they didn't really have anything in my budget, but it was a wonderful experience and it was nice to go somewhere like that to get an idea of what I wanted.

I'm sure the Fox can give you an idea of what happens if a flip is necessary--probably have cocktail reception in the halls or something. It's a beautiful spot!

I looked at the Fox to do our wedding, and asked about the flip...we would have rented both rooms, so we would have had cocktail hour out on the terrace and in the small room that is connected to it during the flip! It would have worked out well, but we ended up wanting something a little smaller and more intimate for our reception! I loved the venue though!

As for gown, I got mine at Priscilla of Boston in Atlanta and LOVED the staff and the whole experience there!

The place on Peachtree/Piedmont is called Le Dress (http://www.ledressboutique.com/).  They're GREAT!  You can find some vintage, previously worn, or just designer out-of-season dresses there, all for ridiculously marked down prices.  Some of the dresses are on their website, but their inventory is always being flipped.  My bff bought her dress there, and I almost did, but fell in love with La Raine's.

I bought my dress from La Raine's in Highlands, and they have great service there, as well as like a bajillion dresses, all with a good range of pirce tags.  They even pop a bottle of champagne when you purchase your dress from them!  They do all of their tayloring in-house at no extra cost AND have really pretty bras/corsets for you to purchase (if you're interested) to wear under your dress (I have had the HARDEST time finding wedding day lingerie, so get it where you can!).  Hope this helps!
