The LOFT at Castleberry Hill in Atlanta? Is it a good venue? Is it a good area?

Also, has anyone been to or know someone that had a wedding at Smoke Rise Golf Club Located at: 4900 Chedworth Drive, Stone Mountain, GA 30087

I have never been to a wedding, but it was one of the venues that I checked out for my wedding. FI and I didn't like the quality of service from the owner and the limited menu choices. We asked her for print outs of everything she was telling us and she said they don't print stuff out, but she can email it to us. We kinda thought that was odd because we had to write down allll the stuff she was telling us and their pricing system is a little complicated.
It also didn't seem like they were set up for weddings (layout wise), but would be perfect for a reception (as far as layout). Seemed a little overpriced once we started really adding it all up and comparing it to what we were actualy getting for the money.
Things we liked:  valet parking that's included and the decor'.

Never been to a wedding there, but had a faculty dinner/reception for GSU at Castleberry Hill and it was really nice. The food was REALLY good that they had an awesome mariachi band playing (although I don't know if that was through the venue, or just a band that someone at the school knew).

Parking in that area is kind of crazy, so make sure to check on the included valet parking mentioned above (they didn't have that when I was there...hmmm). If it's not included, things could get kind of ugly for your guests.

Thanks ladies! They do have packages for valet services. I will definitely pick that opinion if we go with them. Is there a place to take outside pictures there? I hear that it is a park nearby.

Not sure about photo spots, but the venue can probably tell you. Let us know what you think after you visit. 

Are you planning to do ceremony & reception there? I think that was the challenge for me. It seems to make a better place for just the reception and I wanted everything in one location.

We were considering The Loft at Castleberry Hill since it's right around the corne from my alma mater and I love the artsy feel of the area. However... Parking is NOT great. Not sure how they would handle valet. I didn't find them to be very professional or responsive. Yes, the venue is beautiful but... I don't want to take a chance that I would have to flip out on the coordinator for not returning calls or e-mails in a timely fashion. If you want something with the lofty, urban feel check out The View at King Plow.
