Centerpieces... I need help!

hey everyone.

i am getting married april 25th at the beach. we are having a morning ceremony on the beach where guests will be greeted with starbucks coffee and snacks.... a brunch/ reception is to follow. our colors are navy blue and pink. linens white!

i am having lots of trouble with centerpieces... my venue includes mirrors, hurricanes and a candle. but since the reception is in the morning i didint feel like the candles worked. we are trying to keep the flowers on a low budget too.

any ideas??

Re: Centerpieces... I need help!

  • Since your theme is beachy can you fill the hurricane with sand then place the candle in there. Or you could place some flowers floating in water on the table? Something that is simple and low budget but also goes with your theme.
  • I second sand in the hurricane.  Maybe set them on top of the mirrors, then instead of using a candle you could even put some flowers inside.  You don't have to go ballzout on real ones either; some of the silk ones look just as good.  Or, you could even just leave them with the sand then scatter sea shells around the mirror. I thought this one was cute, and you can just leave the candle out.

  • People ALWAYS love the sand w/ seashells look. You could either collect sand from the beach (i.e. FREE) or order colored sand in your colors, and top with neutral seashells. I think that would be super cute!
  • I agrree with everyone else. I work at a beach front hotel in Florida and those are the centerpieces what we provide, hurricanes, sand, shells, and a candle. I wouldn't worry about the candle in the AM, it still looks nice even if it is not lit.

They are super inexpensive to make, the beach front shops sell bags of shells for a few dollars.

I would definitely go with a few larger shells that are pretty rather than a ton of the mini ones...it just looks better.

    Good luck!
