Gift for DOC?

What's the norm on getting your DOC a gift? Necessary? Overkill? We're getting our photographer a really nice bottle of scotch (she's a scotch lover) because she's been absolutely amazing. But I wasn't sure if I should get a gift for the DOC or just make her a nice day-of bag filled with small goodies.

I'm not sure what the "norm" is...but we'll be doing a nice day-of bag filled with goodies & then sending a thank you note afterwards.  If she does something to really knock my socks off then I might send her a VISA gift card...but I'm not sure that its necessary & we probably won't do it unless there is something that is way above & beyond.
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!

No matter what, if she does a good job, you'll need a really well-written thank you for her to place in her portfolio.

I think a tip or gift is a nice gesture if they do an extraordinary job and/or if they don't own their own company.  We got our DOC a gift in lieu of a tip.  We gave her a Swarovski necklace (retail $70 but my mom is a retailer and got it wholesale for $35).
