New girl with question about father in law/daughter dance

Hi everyone!  My name is Lisa and I am so excited to have found this site!! I am getting married here in Denver in January, and am planning everything myself, so it's good to know I have other brides to ask for opinions.  My question-any recommendations for country songs?  I will be doing a father-in-law/daughter dance, and have no idea what to choose.  I have met my fiance's father a couple of times, but he lives out of state, so we don't know each other very well. I do like him though, so I would like to choose a country song, which is his favorite kind of music.   But I have no clue about country! So I am looking for something sweet, but not overly sentimental. Thanks for any suggestions!Lisa

First of all, Congrats!  Second...I would chose something fun and fast to dance to, along the lines of Grundy County Auction (sold) by John Michael Montgomery.....It's about a couple but I'd go along those lines pace wise if you can find anything like that and also under the pretense that you can both go that fast:)  If I come across anything I'll let ya know! I think sentiment is all in the eye of the beholder, so if you have no ties with country music, any appropriate song would do, right? Maybe you should ask your FI for some examples, I only say this because "country" incompasses a lot of music these days. You wouldn't want to pick a modern "country" song and find out your FFIL only listens to "old" country. Hope I'm making sense. And to give you something that answers your quesion: "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. It's sentimental to me, but only because I used it for the father-daughter dance at my wedding. GL!

Thanks for the suggestions-how funny that it did not occur to me to ask him! ! We talked and I looked for things along the line of "I wish" and together we came up with "I Hope You Dance".  Dad was is a bit worried about doing something fast, and we will  only have a couple of times to practice, but I just found the greatest dance instructor (review to come) so I am confident we can do this =) Thanks ladies!
