Newly Engaged - Introduction!

Hi everyone,

I've been poking around on this board for a week or so now, and thought I'd introduce myself!  I got engaged about 2 and a half weeks ago -- he proposed in Old City where we shared our first kiss about 3 and a half years ago.  It was really cute - I was very impressed!  

Anyway, since then we've been super efficient at booking things (so I'm told).  We're getting married on 4/28/12 with the ceremony at a church in Old City and the reception at the Loews.  So far we've put holds on a band and a photographer that we like, too!  

Looking forward to being a part of this board for the next year or so!

    Welcome and congrats!  You are very on top of things.  We've been engaged since the Fall and just booked venue and photographer this month.

    Thanks everyone!  The photog we have on hold is LoRusso Studios -- they're a husband and wife team and they've done the weddings of two of my close friends, and I love their work.  I was a bridesmaid in one of those weddings, so I got to spend the whole day with them, and really loved their personalities, too.  So we have a psuedo hold on them (they said if they have another serious inquiry for our date, they'd give us the opp to book first, so I consider that somewhat of a hold).  The band is called Chico's Vibe - they're from Havertown and are more of a party/bar band than a traditional wedding band.  We saw them last Friday night and they were pretty spectacular --- and my FMIL went to HS with the lead singer, so she's totally on board with the idea.

    Stacylynn702 and Mixtapehearts --- I'm so releived to hear that you somebody has used/seen them and liked them!!  I thought they were great in a bar setting, but I've heard their 10x better at a wedding (acoustics, better able to read the crowd and tailor the set).
