Plymouth Meeting David's Bridal Alterations Advice

Hi everyone!  So, my dress came in yesterday and I was asked to pick it up from the David's Bridal in Plymouth Meeting.  It's the Oleg Cassini halter top, style CW365 I think.  Anyway, I'm asking them to hem the satin layer so that it has no train and leaving just the lace as a "shadow train" to be bustled.  I also will probably need it taken in just about anywhere since I was a comfortably snug fit in the 6 but got it in an 8 so it would be able to be taken in to fit perfectly.

Long story short, should I stick with them for alterations since I'm going to need to take it out of the store and then back again?  My wedding isn't until September and they've already told me they don't have enough room to store my dress until then even if I go with them on alterations.  I guess my stress is, if they're really that busy can I trust them to do a good job with some strange requests?  Does anyone have any prior experience with David's Bridal alterations?  The reviews I've found online aren't all that flattering, but I also know people only tend to review places when they're pissed off and the happy customers carry on with their lives.

Thanks!

I had my dressed done at that store. Ask for Ms. Rose when you go for your alterations. She is old school Russian lady that has over 30 years of knowledge and experience. She will do the job perfect. She noticed some of my beadings looked loose and fixed them for free.

You may not need much taken in, FYI. Floor samples are stretched like no other, and I made the mistake of ordering my dress for my first wedding in the size I tried on in the store- when it came in, it was a size too small.

But I've heard good things about the Plymouth Meeting store. Don't hesitate to look around for better pricing... they can be much pricier than other great alteration places.

Rodeo - thanks for that! I couldn't remember her name! I has BM dress altered there in 2008 - but I remember her being older and Russian!

Thanks so much!  I was kind of freaking out for no reason when they told me they didn't have room to store the dress until alterations started.  I started thinking "well, does that mean they have dozens of other people racked up and they're not going to listen to me at all?"  "Are they going to know what they're doing with my weird requests?"

I'll definitely be asking for Ms Rose when I go!  Thanks for putting my mind at ease!

That is so exciting that you are doing a shadow train.  I am actually doing the same thing with my Casablanca 1992.  I am so excited for it.

Girl there prices are great. I paid $70 for her to shorten the neck, and a 3 point bustle. Ms. Rose is no joke. she wont let you leave until she is happy that you are happy.
