Morning!!

How was everyone's weekend?

I got a LOT done this weekend!  My MOH and I banged out all of the table numbers... and we thought about talking about the programs.  That counts, right?

Sunday... I didn't have to work because Sunday was my shower!  :)
Paprika: I like it when you burp in my ear. It really turns me on.

    Good morning!

YAY RA! How was your shower?

I had a super busy weekend - lots of driving and not a lot of sleeping. I'm still exhausted. It was fun though!

    Morning!

RA, we did the opposite of you! We ordered ceremony programs and talked about table numbers. Are you doing numbers or words for your table names? We can't decide!

     Morning all!

I'm jealous! My shower was not this weekend. Seems like everyone's was this weekend though! Glad you all had a great time though. Hope you all got many useful things.

I hate this weather! Humid and muggy is not my cup of tea. Just straight up hot is fine, but not this!

Had a great weekend though! Hung out with friends saturday after another friends graduation. Talked lots of wedding since my one BM was there. Didn't get anything done though. Still have time, no rush.

    Morning!

RA- that's awesome. :) What was your favorite thing that you got?

I got in a fight with a bag of stupid silk & wood flowers and now I have a nasty cut on the side of my face. I'm pretty excited about that one. I just went over to the wound care center and got their extra strength neosporin stuff, and they'll let me put that on 2x a day, plus I have moisturizer at home for at night. Hopefully, it'll be gone by Thursday. (I'm supposed to go to the wedding of the people who won the contest, then I have tickets for Chelsea Handler on Friday, and then Saturday is the knottie TTD)

Paprika - are you glad you didn't win?  Sorry about the cut, I hope it heals quick!  PS I had a line dancing dream last night, I was learning the dance to Knee Deep...  You have a busy weekend ahead!

Rachel - I'm trying to decide that now too. I think we might end up with numbers just because we can't decide on a category of words to use.

Good morning everyone.  I went back to Pittsburgh for one of our groomsmen's wedding.  We had a lot of fun.  Yesterday we celebrated a late Mother's Day.

I hope everyone had fun at their showers this weekend and got lots of presents.

AW:  We leave for our honeymoon on Friday!!!!   I still have so much crap to get done!

    Paprika - feel better
mana - I felt exactly the same way about the movie.  Some parts were dumb but others I was tearing up because I was laughing so hard.

Mana- Yes. We're glad we didn't win- the taxes on it would have been almost as much as we've already paid for our wedding. Plus, we've got all the decorations already... :)

Oh yeah, we saw Bridesmaids too. I thought it was really funny, though I think they could have done without some of the serious scenes where they focused on the story. It was a little long for a comedy.

Bean - Yeah, that's our problem. We might do names of trees. I would be fine with doing numbers but FI doesn't like numbers cause he feels like we're "ranking" our guests.

Rachel - Same with my FI. We're using wine corks to hold our escort cards, so I think we might end up doing types of wine. It seems a little weird to me though, since those would be the only wine-related things at the wedding (aside from actual wine at the bar).

I'm excited to see Bridesmaids! I'm going to try and convince my sister (MOH) to see if with me this weekend.

My shower was a lot of fun.  My sister was there from Pittsburgh!  I was really surprised to see her, because I know it's a trek for her to come home.

Fave gift was probably the Wizard of Oz cookbook from my drama teacher in high school.  She directed me in Oz back in the day, and I may or may not be a slightly obsessed with the Wizard of Oz.

Rachel--we are doing numbers.  I WANTED to do cartoon/video game characters, and have Mario & Princess Peach as our cake topper, but Gzilla said that was stupid and no one would "get" it.  I disagree, but whatevs.  Our table numbers look really elegant.  We did a lavendar heart with black glitter outline, number in the center, and then the heart is centered on a 5X7 piece of damask b&w paper.  Each of the numbers is going to go in a white picture frame.

Yay for other showers!  Jen, what was your favorite thing this weekend???

Bean - I think the types of wine is a good idea! Our wedding has a definite style but not really a theme, so it's hard to think of something that would fit in.

RA - Those table numbers sound really nice! Can you post a pic sometime? I love damask.

I'd like to do something like this if we do numbers:

Glad everyone had fun at their showers!

I almost forgot, FI & I met with the priest to talk about some preliminary stuff. He gave us this book with selected readings to help us chose how the mass would go. I am not loving anything and FI doesn't like how all of the Old Testament suggestions make it sound like he is "purchasing me from a supermarket". We aren't really bible readers to know of something better. Guess I will turn to google?

QT - I'm glad I wasn't the only one that felt some parts weren't the best.  Overall it was a good movie.

Rachael - those wooden table numbers are CUTE!

RA - YAY your sister got to come that's great!  What would a Wizard of Oz cookbook have in it?!

Paprika - you had to pay tax on it?!  crazy, so it really wasn't every "free"... should have known.

    Morning ladies.

The big move is tomorrow so we are going to start loading our moving trailer today so it actually looks like we're make progress. FI still hasn't done all that much packing but he did thorw a ton of stuff away. Maybe we'll just throw the whole apartment in the dumpster and start fresh.

Yay, to all who had showers over the weekend and those who got stuff done!

WR: we picked out the frame for our ketubah and michaels is having a 55% off framing event. We bought our place cards and little stick on mosiac tiles in our wedding colors to denote meal choices. our RSVP date is today so hopefully we get a flood of them soon.

Anne, I don't envy your moving tomorrow.  I hate moving!  Good luck. lol.

Mana--Wizard of Oz cookbook has a bunch of stuff.  There's a breakfast section, kids section, cocktails section (yeah!), and a dinner section... just all the names have Wizard of Oz themes.  And it has quotes and little fun facts about the movie.

jelybean - We felt the same way about trying to choose a reading from the Old Testament! Our pastor suggested we choose one from the old and one from the new but we ended up picking them both from the new. We used google to help us; though, I would suggest looking up the same reading in different translations, cause they can be a little different.

RA- there were so many nice things that its hard to pick a favorite! My girls and mom did such a nice job and put so much thought into everything from my fave flowers as centerpieces to the favors! As far as gifts, we got a lot of nice things off our registry and my mom got our serving pieces and flutes engraved which was really pretty. Also, my friend's mom got us a doormat with what will be my last name initial- that was neat and unexpected! Also- there were family members that I haven't seen in years that I was really surprised and excited to see so that was probably up there in favorite moments!

As far as numbers/words topic. I finally made a decision on that myself. I am going with words. My fiance and I met at the shore and spent many summers down there together  so we decided to do the tables as places that have special meaning to us down there. it will be fun b/c a lot of our guests were our housemates at one time or another down there as well. We are also doing fudge boxes as our favors so hopefully that all ties together even if nothing else about our wedding is "beach related" (including the venue!) Now, I just can decide if I should make the table "number/word" holder (frame) beach themed or if that will be weird since we aren't at the beach and nothing else will be decorated that way....

oh and btw- the Wizard of Oz cookbook sounds cool!

Bean- I like the wine idea especially with the cork placeholders. I don't think you need to have anything else "wine related"- the corks will tie it together enough.

Rachel - We have to do one from each Testament b/c we are having a full Catholic Mass. Good call on the different translations - I wonder if that is OK with the church? I will find out!

Jelybean--we're using the Old Test reading from Sirach, because it was the least "my wife is my property" and the least "marriage is between a man & woman" reading.

Jelybean- we are doing the OT reading from Song of Solomon.  It's romantic, and I like that it comes from the "dirty book" of the Bible.
