When you have a "free" weekend without a million appointments/things to do....


What does that mean for you?
What does that mean for your FI/H/SO?

Me:  Yay!  I have time to do all the little things I don't get to do all week.... grocery store, cleaning, cooking, etc.  Once that's all done, I can sit down to relax and watch some tv or something.

Hubs:  He has time to sit on the couch, play golf, relax, etc.  He doesn't think about what needs to be done when he doesn't have appointments per se.  I have to ask him to do laundry or clean up.  He's willing, he just doesn't think of it himself.

Me- It means I have time to take care of little nuances. Laundry, more in depth cleaning... and scrapbooking. Depending on the weather, DD & I can go to the park/for a walk, etc.

FI- If he has the weekend by himself, it means he'll relax for most of the day, until he sees me working and feels bad. Then he walks around behind me (esp. while I'm cooking... and just stares. It drives me crazy) and asks if he can help. Or, better, tells me he feels bad that I'm doing all the work.

Usually we'll take a weekend together and go somewhere fun. (beach, zoo, mall...)

Me:  right now that means I can get some packing done!  Maybe putter around the apartment and organize that closet like I've been wanting to, or rearrange the pictures on the wall.

Him:  HorsePower TV and the internet.

Me: Clean, Laundry, Hit the Gym, Sleep In, Grocery Shop

Hubs: Lay on the couch all day and watch the history channel/nature channel/animal planet  hahaha

I'm glad I'm not alone!  LOL

What's funny is that I do all of the grocery shopping and most of the cooking, cleaning, laundry, planning etc.  Now that H is laid up on the couch with a bad foot, all of a sudden he feels bad that I "have to" cook him food.  Very odd.  I do it anyway silly!!!  The only difference now is that I'll plate it and hand it to him in instead of making him come make a plate for himself.

We just relax and hang out around the house. Maybe rent movies or go out to a movie. Just relax... and usually clean because I clean every week so every weekend isn't really free

and DH is usually on the couch watch tv or playing games lol

It pretty much means the same thing for me and DH.  When we have free time on the weekend, we try to get a home improvement project started or out of the way.  Yesterday we got done our errands early so we went to Lowes and bought some shelving units.  It's my job today to figure out where to put them and then give a place to some of the crap laying around right now.

Me: WOO HOO I CAN CLEAN AND WATCH COP SHOWS!  My life is sad.  OR... I can take a roadtrip and visit someone. Like this weekend... going to DC to spend time with my MOH and some other people I know who moved to the greater DC area.

Gzilla: Sleep. Or watch a lot of soccer... he's a big soccer fan, and he takes up my whole DVR with three or four Premiership games.
