Repost: T&P please!

(For some reason, it won't let you reply and was showing it all jumbled for the one below, so I figured others were having problems as well...I originally posted this on friday):

Just got back from the doctor.  They are admitting me for a week long infusion epidural on Feb 28th.  While it's similar to the epidural you get during labor, it lasts a HECK of a lot longer, which creates a whole bunch of new issues (pressure sores, etc).  Add in no showers and caths, well, I am going to be having loads of fun.  I will have a cath as well (which one friend said wasn't so bad, at least you don't have to answer the call); I won't be able to get up or move or feel from the waist down (it's not a walking epidural).

I will have my computer, but don't know about internet- the stay is at Lankenau, so we will see.  I am making a list already of DVDs I want before I go in!

If you have other suggestions on things to take/tips for while I am in there, please, feel free to suggest.  One of my friends already suggested a sleepmask, and B is going to get me some dry shampoo (the shampoo he uses when backpacking) because I won't be able to shower the entire time.  Other thoughts on things to help make the stay easier?  Also, suggestions on Movies?  Especially ones that don't require much "thought"- I don't want anything too deep and all.  Thank goodness for Netflix online!

Anyway, thoughts and prayers would be greatly, greatly appreciated.  I have never been admitted to the hospital- all my surgeries have been outpatient- and I am a little apprehensive, not to mention worried about what will happen if this doesn't work.  Luckily, I have some awesome doctors!

Thanks girls!

Thoughts and prayers as you go through this weeklong ordeal!

Netflix online is awesome, I especially love watching TV series on it (candy for the brain) I'm not sure what movies/tv shows you're into or have already seen but the ones I love are (and on instant Netflix)...

    The Office
    30 Rock
    Parks & Recreation
    Friday Night Lights

And then any kind of girlie romantic comedy for sure! And then in terms of other kind of entertainment in the hospital (I was once in the hospital overnight when I was 10 at CHOP and they brought in Super Nintendo-very cool) I think board games would be fun when your family and Hubbie are visiting, books, magazines, crossword puzzles/wordsearch, is there a craft you could bring in and do (scrapbooking, etc.)?

Hope these ideas help and good luck!!!

Actually, yeah- I can bring my cross-stitching with me.  I keep meaning to get back into it.  This would be the perfect oppurtunity!  Thanks for the idea!

We also have board games that would be easy to play- Jenga, Boggle, Scrabble Slap.

We have a Wii, which B would bring for me, but I don't know if a) they will let me hook it up or b) if its a good idea for me to be playing Wii while in the hospital.

    Thank you!

Yeah I thought about suggesting Wii, but then I was thinking, uh maybe not a good idea...haha

I don't know if someone has a Nintendo DS (I bought one for FI but have played puzzle games on it myself...fun mindless easy stuff) that would be fun to play, smaller, and easier to keep around than Wii

So glad the craft suggestion inspired you! Oh also a puzzle could be fun, it's time to breakout all the rainy day when I was a kid ideas..oh like play-doh..haha

    T&P to you, Brittany!

I see others have already said it but definitely netflix online.  Also create a pandora account for music.  A few really good books (Different kinds-a Bible, something just to read, something to inspire you, somethign to make you cary, and somethign that you can learn from).  Think of something that you have always wanted to do (write a book, start up a business) and take the materials with you that you would need to get started (be productive).  Ponds makes these cleansing wipes that are good for just wiping down your body to refresh yourself.  Bring things to do your nails, play with your make-up, and try different hair styles.
