we are having a pretty casual wedding by most standards. it will be considered formal by fi's family, who normally gets married in town halls and send email invites...by my families standard, it is very casual and relaxed. with that said, i really want to just write "to the such and such family" when sending invites to families (not just couples or individuals). My logic is: fi's family is STILL going to think our invites are formal and fancy as none of them have ever received a real invite before and my family will think "it is perfect for a casual wedding." we do not have any stuffy etiquette masters in either family. Can i write this on the invites or do i really have to write "mr and mrs. john smith and family"?? seems really lame to me...let me know, trying to address envelopes right now!
PS for what it is worth, we do not have an inner envelope.
