Favorite wedding detail?

What's yours & why? PIP if you have one!

Re: Favorite wedding detail?

  • I can't PIP it at this time, but I am so looking forward to FI's and my choreographed first dance!
  • Aw that's really cute. I wanted to take dancing classes but we don't have the extra $$ so my mom got us this DVD (cringe) and we're going to try to learn!

  • LOL They have dance lessons On Demand too, depending on your cable provider. That's what I keep threatening to FI.

... I don't have a fave wedding detail yet. I keep waiting for something to be like "POW! THAT'S IT!" but ... nada.

  • Location, location, location.  Cape Cod is one of my most favorite places in the world and I just feel so lucky to be having my wedding there.  That and we are using mix-and-match china dishes for the reception place settings.  They are all white with delicate floral designs around the borders in all different colors.  They'll be mixed and matched so no two tables will be the same!  I just thought that was really cool and different.

  • Oh good question!  I can't even decide!

I love the ceremony location because it is an old military fort right on the water in Newport.  Or maybe the favors?  My friend is making caramel covered apples dressed like brides and grooms.. or maybe it is the pearls I found for vase filler.................... idk!!!! I love it all!  maybe my shoes....hot pink with ruffles, or the trolley I booked for transportation for WP and Guests?

  • hmmm i love everything that i have put together.... I cant pick just one!

I love my location, Southern Mansion in Cape May. I think it fits me perfectly. And i really love my chair backs ( i made them all), my programs (odd, but i am obsessed with how good they look), and the favors. My uncle is a potter and he made the favors for me. Everyone always compliments his pottery when they see it and i thought it would be great to share it with everyone, i hope they like their piece!

  • No picture, but "Make your own Italian Soda Bar". We're going to put out different flavored syrups and invite guests to make their own flavored sodas.

  • Just remembered the latest thing my sister/MOH/catering coordinator showed me last week that she's decided to add to the reception: a friggin' champagne tree. lol Apparently the company just bought one so it's their newest shiny toy, and she wants to use it at the wedding. It's completely unnecessary and over-the-top, and that's probably why as of this moment, it's my favourite detail. It's the first thing that's honestly superfluous, and it's the first thing that's really made me feel spoiled. I heart my sister. :)

Do it! I think it's super fun, and for us it's far cheaper than going with traditional soft drinks (we really didn't want to go with coke/pepsi products, so I was looking at Dr. Brown's sodas). The caterer's providing the seltzer water and we're going to get three or four flavors of Torani syrups for guests to choose from. FI and I are also mixing together a "specialty" syrup as our drink!

  • We're keeping it very casual with outdoor ceremony, picnic-like reception, etc.  We're even setting up games for people to play before/during cocktail hour and if they're bored with the reception/dancing, including quoits:

[QUOTE]Can I pick two? Our ceremony location - Thomas Jefferson Memorial.  And our favors, which are gourmet s'mores made by a friend as her wedding gift to us.

That is probably one of the coolest things I've read on TK.

  • I don't really know what my favorite detail is right now...

I think I'll go with the fact that I LOVE that we are having a taco bar at the wedding. It's not a typical wedding food, and it's REALLY good. (And I LOVE chips and salsa)
