I just got back from my hair and makeup trial, and I think it went pretty well (even though I'm sick as a dog). I have tons of pictures because it's hard taking self-shots, and I wanted to get a lot of different angles. I was way too caught up in things, I forgot to bring my veil to the appointment, and I forgot to ask them to take pictures for me. Forgive the poorly-taken pictures, awkward poses, and my messy bathroom!
Here is the makeup (you can see more angles in the other pictures, too):
Natural light, freshly done:
Artificial (and really shiity) light, after two hours of running errands, eating lunch, and sweating like a pig:
Here is the hair:
Initially I thought I wanted the veil under my hair, but the hairdresser said she really prefers the veil to be on top. I tried it both ways, and now I'm not so sure. I will say, underneath didn't feel as secure, but I imagine she'd pin it or something.I will probably use a hair flower or comb in place of the veil after the ceremony.
Veil on top:
I have to say, getting it done was sort of emotional. Like trying on the dress, it brought this wave of, "This is really happening!!!" and I also was finally able to really picture how I'll look that day.
I really like the hair, even though I had initially thought that I wanted something simpler. The makeup is taking some time to get usd to - I loved it in the salon but looking at pictures I feel like it's just not me. I also hate the way I look in pictures, though, and I know that's part of it (goofy smiles, weird expressions...ugh).
I NEVER wear makeup, and I'm worried FI is not going to like it since we both really prefer a natural look. I may ask her to tone down the blush and go with a more natural lip color on the day of, I don't know.
So any thoughts or suggestions? Both the hairdresser and MUA stressed that I can change it as much as I want and encouraged me to get feedback. How do you prefer the veil? Do you think the makeup is too much? TIA!
