Yoga Advice

I have seen a lot of ladies post good comments about the 30 day shred and have decided to buy it to get in more shape for the wedding.

Do you ladies know of any beginning yoga dvds that you would recommend?  I went to a yoga event on campus last semester and loved it.  TIA!

I love The Method dvds.  I did a lot of their pilates ones and a few yoga ones.  Also popular is Windsor Yoga dvds and anything by Gaiam.

Body by Bethenny is a good beginner's yoga workout dvd. I have been doing yoga for about 10 months now and every time you do it it's a different experience and challenge. If there is a studio in your area see if they have a beginners class to learn the basic poses (asanas).  Classes are the best imo.  GL!

Tony Horton has a Yoga DVD that I really like.  It's called Ho Ala Ke Kino: Awaken the Body.  If you've ever done yoga before, it's kind of like Sun Salutations.  It's contantly moving yoga, or "power yoga" which I prefer to the "hold this pose forever" yoga.

Our favorite Satan, Jillian, also has a yoga DVD which I have not done, but it gets pretty good reviews.  That's called Jillian Michaels: Yoga Meltdown.

I like Yoga Meltdown a lot, but its different than regular yoga, I think.  You don't really get traditional sun salutations and she doesn't focus on form and the actual poses as much.  For just starting out with yoga, I'm not sure I'd recommend it first.  (though it is an awesome workout....and also, disclaimer, I've only done the On Demand versio, not the full video).

There is a lot on demand you can try too. (Even kids yoga)

OMG - yoga booty ballet.... I was so obsessed with those informercials!! I have the DVD, but I was never able to do the workouts.  I don't think I'm that coordinated.
