December 2010 Weddings

What are you working on? What are your recent checks?

My wedding is 12/4 and I'm sure like the rest of you the planning is really ramping up!  Currently I'm working on getting the BM's organized to go to a fitting (we've opted to go together), planning the rehearsal dinner for my FMIL, who doesn't want to deal with it, choosing flowers/florist, and I'm just starting to look for people to do hair/makeup.

Next we need to start looking for an officiant and a suit for Fl (he has been out of town for some weeks, getting back tonight, yay!) and finalizing the details with the band (friends of ours), looking at DIY design ideas for the reception, and possibly a photo booth.  So much to do!

My recent checks include getting BM dresses, going to my first dress fitting, deciding on shoes, signing the contract with the photographer, getting the invitations, and the invitations are currently going out (big thanks to my M&D for that one!)

How is everyone else doing?  Sometimes it feels good to just write it down!

  • That's great how much yoú've got done! I finally ordered the invitations, that was exciting :) Have my official guest list done. Working on the bridesmaid dresses and counting down the days!  Going to help my mom pick out her dress for the wedding and that's about it!

That's awesome!  "Git-r-donnnne" haha, you're doing great with checks...moving right along!

I was really excited this past weekend because we printed out the invitations and put them together (I had fun lol).  I bought clear labels at Staples and printed our address and stuck them on all the RSVP envelopes.  Next step there, make sure we have all the addresses, print them on the envelopes and buy some stamps!

After I'm done typing this, I'm ordering our table numbers (I'm in love with them)...great price too--ebay.  And I'm going to order the holders for them now that I found out how tall the tallest cylinder is in our centerpiece.  (Pic below is our table number card - It will look exactly like card #2 and will have our names and date at the bottom) If you click on the picture you can see more of the detail in the snowflake...it looks kinda crappy here lol.

Also, we're working on finding a place for the rehearsal dinner, because we found out recently FI's mom wants to host one for us.  So we're pricing out places to make sure she is ok with it.

Lastly, I need to make an appointment to get my dress alterations...I"ll probably call next week after I'm back on my workout routine b/c I'm sure I've gained it all back in the past month.

Sorry for hogging up a bunch of space! haha

  • Welll, I don't really have much DONE, but I've got a lot in the works. I just posted earlier that I finished my headpiece, which has prompted my MOH to press for my measurements so that she can start working on my dress. We've also picked out our invitations, and hopefully this month I'm going to go put some money on our rings. I've also figured out what I'm doing for flowers for our first wedding.

    That's all for now....
  • We had our first pre-marital counseling session with the Reverend, and I've started printing the response cards.  The invites aren't going out until October 16th, but I figure if I do 5 or so a day during the week I'll get them all done in time.  I'll go tomorrow on my lunch break to get the invites weighed and buy postage.

My pastor actually took an item off of our DIY list, since he does not allow aisle runners (he says he's seen too many women almost trip and fall because their heels punch holes in the cheap runners) and I got the shoes that I'm going to wear to my shower and bachelorette party.

    Fun stuff!!

Our day after brunch has been booked as of today, most of my bridesmaids have ordered their dresses, and the last project I'm working is desperately trying to get this one last hotel to send me confirmation of our hotel room block, so that I can finish my accommodations card for my invites. We are almost done with our music as well.

FI still needs to get the rest of the addresses (and correct names, for that matter), for his part of the guest list and to go pick out tuxes. Both of these will be accomplished this week.

ETA: cakes and flowers are complete as well.
