Hair and makeup recommendations?

Yes, waited till the last minute to find a salon. 3 of the 8 of us are getting our hair done, and I think I may be the only one getting my makeup done. Any recommendations? Do all salons automatically charge more for the bride? We are going to be at First Colony Inn (MP16) so something kind of close would be great.

    Stylists usually do charge more for the bride.  I talked with a hair stylist and her fee for the bride is $100.00, $75.00 for the bridesmaid and $50.00 for the flower girls.  Needless to say, I'm doing my own hair and makeup.

    We are using Amber from Bombshell's for Makeup. Her studio is in Kill Devil Hills but she travels to site for a fee. I've heard only good things about her work.

    Just had my makeup trial with Liza Yowell and it went very well!!
    You can try her...but she doesn't do hair - just makeup.
    I have my hair trial tomorrow morning with Stacey Sheetz.

    I used two places.  Hairoics and Dimensions. We used Hairocis for pedicures but some of the girls had some waxing done and hair cuts, etc.  They were very friendly.  We had Heather Clark and her team from Dimensions come to the house teh morning of the wedding for everyone's hair and my makeup.  She did a great job and her and one other girl were able to get 11 people done.

    Stacy Sheetz is the best hair stylist down here on the OBX for bridal hair and she travels. All Eyes on the Bride - a makeup artist - also travels. She specializes in AIRBRUSH MAKEUP and uses all the good stuff - MAX, Smashbox, etc. The reason most charge more for the bride, is that the stylist/artist spends extra time on the Bride - its her big day and they have to pull out all the stops!

    One of my best friends got married in the Outer Banks last year and she hired All Eyes on the Bride to do her makeup and the bridal parties. The makeup artist Lauren was fantastic, traveled to us, and we all looked stunning, and she did airbrush makeup which was fantastic. I stopped at her booth at the recent expo and chatted her up to say hello. I told her I would definitely be booking her for my wedding makeup in 2013!
