EXHAUSTED! Thankful for 2 days off!

Hi everyone! I am so extremely exhausted. I had a panic attack about our finances earlier today and woke my poor fiance up way before it was time for him to get up. Then after we settled our finance problem for the time being he went back to bed. I worked 1-10 today straight through. No lunch because my Store Manager doesn't schedule enough people to have coverage so I can take one.

So now after my litte rant, I am extremely thankful to have the next two days off! An end of the workweek weekend!!!! I so need it! To make things EVEN BETTER my Bridal Shower is on Friday!!!!!!! I can't wait!!! I don't think it is going to be very big because the majority of the people who were invited are in PA and it is here in FL. Probably just my FI's family. Still super excited to see how it turns out!

  • Sorry to hear about your panic attack. Was it a full out one or are you just using that as an expression? I hope it was just the latter, because panic attacks are so terrible and I know from experience. I hear ya about stressing about money. Ever since I got laid off from my public school teaching job money has been my biggest worry. My FI and I are both teachers looking for public school jobs. He's just tutoring now and I'm working part time in a Catholic school, but it's a struggle to pay all our bills. (Let alone this wedding!)

Anyhow....I hope you get to relax during your days off. And I hope you have a blast at your shower tomorrow. Mine is Sunday and I'm super excited!

I was just using it as an expression. It's so hard to find a job in education right now. I have my BA in Elementary Eduation and have only taught one year in Philadelphia. I left that job to move to FL to be with my now FI. Good thing that move paid off :)  I went from making $38,000/yr to $12.50/ hr. I think it's like half if you do the math. I want to leave my job so bad because they are breaking laws about lunch breaks etc. At the same time I am very gratefull for having a job in the first place b/c I know they are so hard to come by.

Enjoy your shower day!!!!! I know I will enjoy mine tomorrow!!!!!

I went from $47,500/year to $11.40 an hour. It makes me so sad when I think about it.

  • Thank you. I tutor and do fitness training for extra cash but on a good week that only is an extra $140.

  • Keep your heads up ladies! FI is a teacher so I totally understand your struggles. This was the first year since he started teaching (his 4th yr now) that he didnt receive a pink slip!

I have a lot of hope that the economy will improve and schools will be able to hire on the teachers that are so desperately needed. Just hang tight!

  • Have a great shower. I know that the teaching profession is hard to get into right now. i am so scared about graduating. I think we can all do it though!
