Did anyone do their own flowers?  Anyone plan on doing their own flowers?  I'm toying with this idea...just don't see the point in paying someone a butt ton for something I could possibly do myself (I can be creative when I want to be.) If anyone has done this, any flower sites/stores you recommend?  I've looked at fiftyflowers.com...anyone have good/bad experiences with them?Anyone think doing this is a bad idea and I should just go to a florist?TIA!

I was thinking of doing this but it seems like to much stress a day before the wedding...I am getting our local vo-tech school to do our flowers....i'm just having them do the wedding party stuff...1 bride, 5 bridemaid, a toss, 3 coursages (sp), 8-9 bouts all using carnations is going to cost like 80-100...if your not looking to spend a lot of money and don't want to worry about the stress, that might be your way to go

It does sound like a good idea, but just remember that you will have a lot on your mind the day before the wedding and it may not be as realistic as it seems. In wedding planning, it seems like everyone has a lot of time on their hands with DIY and planning out detials, but once it is closer to your wedding it can get very stressful and time does get tight. I ended up not getting 1/2 of my wedding DIY projects done because I simply ran out of time. You could definitely do silk flowers ahead of time with no problem. Many brides on this board have doen their own silk flowers and they looked great! I would just be careful if you're working with your own. I would just be afraid that something would happen like the shipment wouldn't be in on time, or the flowers died, or they fell apart, or you forgot them. I would just suggest that you price some people out before you decide to do this. I only spent $400 on flowers and I got 5 BM bouquets, 1 bridal bouquet, a large cascading centerpiece, and 13 bouts.
