REALLY frustrated with my alterations... I'm taking it somewhere else!

Okay... I know I've asked this before, a long time ago, but I can't find my old post anywhere (it's not listed under "my posts" for some reason). Those of you with complicated, lacy, beaded dresses... where did you take them for alterations?  I had gotten recommendations for someone on here and my mother had gotten recommendations from her friends for the same person so we decided to try her... but my fears were confirmed after I picked up my dress this past Friday. Before I took the dress in, I had noticed that all of the girls who had recommended her had (very gorgeous) but simple dresses... so I was nervous about how this lady would do with mine.Well the left side of my dress looks beautiful... but the right side looks like... I dunno... like she shoved the dress through the machine in 2 minutes.  I'm not happy, but I couldn't get past the denial stage until this morning.  I was gonna try the dress on again on Wednesday (I need someone to come over and help me get into it), to pin point EXACTLY where the problem areas are, before I called her back demanding that she fixes them... but then I started to wonder if I should even risk taking it back to her.I've decided that if I can find someone a little more seemingly reliable and experienced with my type of dress, that I am just gonna spend the extra coin and take it there to get it fixed.So... those of you with "complex" dresses... can you give me recommendations of a FANTASTIC seamstress in the Lancaster area?  Can you possibly post a picture of your dress as well? Thanks for your help!!

I don't have any recs for Lancaster. I got my alterations done in Hershey. I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. No bride should ever have to go through this. Unfortunatly, a lot of bridal salons just want you to buy the dress without pre-thinking these things. They really should have ordered you a petite or had a custom length done on it if they knew that it might be complicated to hem. I ended up having the designer do a custom length on my dress before I ordered it and that way I didn't have to get anything done with the hem (I only got a bustle). Good luck and I hope you get everything figured out.

Who did you go to in Hershey?  I'm close enough (and intern up there) that I wouldn't mind going there if i needed to.Do you have a full picture of your dress i could see?I didn't get my dress from a salon, so I can't really blame anyone for not thinking to custom order it, haha :)

I had my alterations done by Teresa at Cocoa Couture, but I can't really recommend her because I had a custom hem, so she didn't have to alter the lacey part, except for the bustle. She has a private alterations business, but I'mnot sure what it's called! I completely forget, but I'll try to find her card. I have lots of pictures in my bio undre "photo albums"

Oh I know exactly where that's at!  I'll keep her in mind if my search down here is a bust :)  Thanks for your help!

Try Jenny Miller in Akron- she used to do all the alterations for the bridal department at Donecker's. She did amazing stuff to my MOG outfit, and remarked that she loves a challenge! :) call her at 859-2619
