Unity Candle Song

What song are you using when the unity candle is being lit?

And on this day (English)...if you google it the lyrics will come up....It's a perfect song IMO.

I don't have suggestions, and I'm not trying to judge or anything, but you must go to a pretty liberal parish for them to allow that.  Most churches I've seen wouldn't have let us do a unity candle (not that I was too keen on it anyways). Just wanted to say that!  I'm glad you have a good match in your church! :)

Every wedding I've been to in the last 8 years has had the unity candle lighting and flowers to the blessed mother *shrug*  and to answer your question, most likely Ave Maria

We are doing a song called bridal prayer. This song will actually follow our vows and just continue into the candle lighting. Have you met with the singer and organist at the church yet? They were so helpful to me in picking all the music. They played suggestions and asked what I liked. I also have seen the unity candle at pretty much every catholic wedding I have been to.

One Hand One Heart from West Side Story. I know it is secular, but our church allows it because it is a "prayer".... perfect for unity candle.... "make of our hands, one hand, make of our hearts, one heart, make of our vows, one last vow, even death won't part us now"
