No singing?

We're having a harpist play at our wedding ceremony (not a full mass) but no singers. Is that going to be awkward?I haven't been to a Catholic wedding in more than 10 years so I'm not familiar with how it goes. Thanks in advance!

It will be fine. You'll need someone to read your psalm but this is very common. Without a mass, there aren't really any hymns in the ceremony that need to be sung.

You'll need a cantor to sing the responsorial psalm.  If not, it could also be read.

we chose not to have a vocalist, only an organist.  no one noticed.

I think it might be awkward, but maybe not. We didn't have a full mass either, but there were 4 songs that were sung in our ceremony.
