NFP: If This Were Your Chart...

would you feel safe having sex if you're trying to avoid pregnancy?

http://www.tcoyf.com/members/ExpatPumpkin/pccharts/2.aspx

I'm only concerned because I apparently ovulated on CD10 and thought that was early...

Thanks ;)

I'd wait a few more days just to make sure your temps don't spike again...your orginal spike isn't that dynamic, so I would hold off a couple of days to be sure. I always play the "when in doubt, don't do it' rule.

That's actually not true - you're infertile for about twice as many days as you're fertile in any given month.  So the general outcome of sex is more likely not to be pregnancy.

Read up on NFP or FAM (Fertility Awareness Method) to learn about natural birth control.  "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is a great book.  Good luck ;)

Right, I'm just saying that for this, when in doubt, don't.

for TTA, being cautious, i'd consider day 15 to be your spike, therefore making you safe after 6pm on day 17.

Expat - I would also try using fertility friend...I think they're charts are easier to look at. They have a free version, and one you pay like $40 a year for that allows you to analyze your charts (live overlay multiple charts on to of each other to compare, etc). I feel like the TCOYF tool is a bit more cumbersome.

Ditto this - I find fertilityfriends charting system much easier to read. From looking at your chart it seems that they are attempting to make it 'pretty' when it just needs to be informational.

i just created an account for fertility friend.  i'm going to key in all my charts to date and see what they have to say - i'm hoping my interpretations match theirs.

Just keep in mind that fertility friend is geared towards those who are trying to conceive....so if you are avoiding (like me), just use it as a graphing mechanism, data collector, organizer and analyzer.

I always double-check its calculations and rely on my judgment rather than the website.
