Random thoughts...profoundly moving things: I was listening to "Life on the Rock" on my way back from "our other house" today. The guest was a woman (I can't remember her name) who survived when her mother tried to abort her. It was heart-wrenching to hear about the saline abortion process...if I wasn't already a convert to Pro-Life, that would've done it for me.
I also watched "The Mighty Macs" over the weekend, about coach Cathy Rush and the women at Immaculata college, the first national champions of women's basketball. Some of the writing was a little cheesy - but the true story is very inspiring. Highly recommended. I bought "The Way" at the same time and am looking forward to watching that.
On the job front...I had an excellent meeting wtih my bosses and we talked about a number of possible approaches to the situation. Nothing will happen in the short-term, because we're expecting a Joint Commission visit any day and this would be a major structural change to the organization, but I felt better just letting people know what I was thinking. I do have an interview with my old boss, to just explore their psychology and religion program, but I have a feeling that would never fly with my husband. However, I also heard back from the local Catholic Charities director, so maybe I'll get to do some volunteer work there! That would help a lot.
On the not so great side, my doctor and I continue to scratch our heads over this mysterious nausea that's been bugging me for the last two months or so. They thought it might be my gall bladder, but my ultrasound was normal. I thought it might be lactose intolerance, but it doesn't seem to happen consistently. High fat foods might be ONE of the problems, but it just never seems to go away, and when it's really bad it lays me flat for a couple of days. I cannot imagine how people who have chemotherapy endure this all the time...
How's everyone else's day going?
