ceremony program

What is the typical layout of a catholic nuptial ceremony program (not a full mass)? Do you incorporate anything beyond what's been selected in the" together for life" booklet?  It's impossible to get ahold of parish staff at the church I'm getting married at - I'm a long distance bride relying on email and phones. They have my booklet selections, but they haven't given me any feedback. If someone could show me an example or direct me to a source of a generic catholic ceremony program template, I would greatly appreciate it!!!

I am going to go through Catholicbrides.com they are really, really good and very knowledgeabole about Catholic weddings. This is from the company website

We are the only company that focuses solely on your Catholic ceremony and we have all the required permissions (USCCB, CCCB & ICEL) to print your entire marriage ceremony.

In addition, we work directly with OCP, GIA, WLP, Hope, Morningstar and other publishers of Catholic music to include your hymns and other Mass parts in your program.

And the gentleman that I spoke to said that they will communicate directly with your parish to help you with your program needs.

    Check them out

Fl feels we don't need a program. He thinks they are dumb.

I thought the church requires you to have them. I am not Catholic yet (will be taking RCIA class in sept).

So i am on the fence about doing programs.

I don't think they are a requirement. We are doing them because a good portion of our guest list is non-Catholic. I think it is a nice gesture to give them something to follow along. Also - I have a friend that was worried about knowing when to stand and sit. Program can address that as well. In my program I explained different parts of the mass and descriobed what the priest was doing and its significance. With that said, I think it is really a matter of personal preference.

Programs are sometimes required.  My home parish does not require programs, but a neighboring parish where a friend of mine recently married does require a program.  The best way to know for sure is to ask your priest.
