Fun inexpensive b-day party ideas needed! :)

So my lovely Fi is turning 30 this year, in August. We are getting married in October, so funds are incredibly tight, but I really want to surprise him with a little party.  Mostly because he is convinced I could NEVER sneak a party past him without him knowing it.. ill show him!! ;)

So, any help or advice on throwing a surprise birthday party are appreciated!!

    How about telling in you're taking him to dinner for his birthday and organize all his friends to already be there at the resturant. That's pretty affordable.
