Finished New Moon

So, it took me longer than 3 days to finish New Moon but it still only took me a week.  The storyline was a bit slower which made me a little less interested in it.  The paperback for Eclipse doesn't come out until August 4, so my girlfriend back home (Oklahoma) mailed hers out to me on Monday.  So, I'm ANXIOUSLY awaiting for Edward and Bella to arrive at my humble abode so that I can continue my love affair with them.  I'm torn, though, on whether or not I want to watch the movie(s).  I've created the look of the characters and their surroundings in my head and I'm afraid I'll be disappointed to see the movie with the characters looking nothing like they do in my head.  Does that sound silly?

I LOVED the books.  The movie, not so much.  But I think its ok to watch it as lon as you don't let it ruin your love for the book's characters (as the acting is very terrible).

I saw the movie before I read the series, but I know what you mean. I've been that way with other books that became movies. I just saw the New Moon preview last night when I went to see Harry Potter. It looks good. New Moon was much slower than the rest for me too. It it my least favorite out of the 4

I just finished the last book but I love the movie! It will keep me busy watching since I have nothing to read anymore. I understand what you mean by having the cjarecters in your head- but I really was impressed with the movie. I will probably re-read New Moon before I go see the movie.

I used to re-read before I went to the movie, but then if they leave something out or change something, I get mad and always tell whoever is watching with me :"it didn't happen like that in the book" heheheLast nite at Harry Potter, I kept telling my friend that, luckily she doesn't care since she's a nerd too and has read the books a bunch!

I loved the twilight books. The movies are a little annoying cause there's a bunch thats wrong or in the wrong place. I found a copy of the 5th book online and its really stupid. Its basiclly the first book from Edwards point of view.

I have kept myself from reading the last until I finish wedding planning. That is one reason I havent had time to post much. I refuse to watch the movies until I am done with the books. It always changes my thoughts on the characters and I dont want it to. I agree with you... gotta finish them first.

I read Twilight first and then watched the movie. Definitely didn't like the movie as much. Then I read New Moon and I just kept picturing the characters from the movie, instead of how I had originally pictured them. I think I would have waited to watch the movies until I had finished the books if I would have thought about it beforehand.

I loved reading the Twilight books. I read them all in just short of a week back in January. Plus I worked, went to school, and slept. I read fast. :)BUT I definitely recommend the Southern Vampire series, which is the book series that True Blood is based on! They are geared towards adults, and make the twilight vampires look like kittens! I have gotten most of my friends who read the Twilight books reading them, and they all love them as well! The first book in the series is Dead Until Dark, and they are all sold at Target for 5.99 I think. :)

Tia, Her name is Lisa (L.J) Smith. I read them years ago and wondered why they were not a movie or a television show. I guess the whole Vampire craze made them go ahead with it and I cant wait! If you google the vampire diaries you can see info and the books and upcoming show! And yes the True Blood books are also awesome!

I've learned with movies based on anything, that you have to go in with no expectations of how things are going to turn out. If you have no expectations, you can't be disappointed. So far, Stephenie Meyer has approved the scripts for the movies, so you can assume that if the author of the book is okay with changes made for whatever reason, then it's okayGo see the movie on November 20, if anything it will give a reason to actually throw something at the screen when that horrible event takes place.
