FI's niece- where to fit her in??

Hey guys! We had decided that we may want to use my 2 yr old niece as our flower girl and my (will be) 6 yr old nephew as our ring bearer.  But then my FI has a neice and she just turned 12. We have no idea how to include her and we decided that if we can't think of something, then we will just do away with using my niece and nephew also (its only fair). She is a little too old to be a second flower girl, and we really would rather not have her be a jr bridesmaid or mini bride.  We thought of having her do a reading during the ceremony but she has a speech problem and is extremely shy. So we realized it wasn't a good idea. Any suggestion??

It may seem minor but maybe she could hand out programs before the ceremony to have her involved.  Or ask your officiant if there is anyway he could incorporate her with a symbolic part of the ceremony, you never know. GL

You could have her help usher or direct people to their seats or welcome them as they come in the ceremony.  Also, if you are having a guest book or photo booth you could have her sit at the table to make sure people sign the book or have her be at the gift table when people arrive.  Sorry, it may be a stretch, but GL!

Is the niece the daughter of FI's BROTHER, who will be Best Man or an Usher?

In that case, the neice becomes the escort for her mother, who will need to be seated alone - since her husband is in the wedding party.  So you can tell her that she already has a role in the wedding:  she will be walking her mother down the aisle in place of her dad.

Thanks guys! Well, the niece is of FI's older sister, and the girl's father hasn't really been around much since she was born. And the best man is FI's best friend.
