Flower Girl/ Ring Bearer dilemma

My wedding is 9-10-11, and I am starting to plan my wedding party. My dilemma is the ring bearer/flower girl.

Here's the situation. I have a niece and nephew that are going to be 8 and 9 by the time I get married. I talked to their mother last night and said they would be happy to do it but I may want to go for the "aww cute baby" FG & RB.

Two of my bridesmaids have a lil girl and lil boy that will be 1 year and 6 months by the time I am gettting married.

In ya'lls opnion do you think the lil guys will be able to make it down the aisle or should I incorporate my other cousins in helping them down the aisle? Or just have my cousins do it?

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I would never choose a friend's cute kids over my own blood relatives. Why do you need the "aww cute baby" factor? They are just that-babies.

    Have to agree with Nicole.
Plus, getting an 8 & 9 year old to do what you want is far less stressful than hoping a baby isin't fussy and screaming- so not a cute baby then!

Well thats why I wanted other people's views. My cousins are my blood, but the babys that would be in my wedding are like family to me too. I see them way more often, and am very close with their parents. Thats why I wanted them all to be apart of it. I just don't know if its a good idea or if thats too many little ones. I want everyone to feel special. But at the same time I know babies cam be unpredictable.

I think I am going to go with my cousins. I am sure it would be alot of less pressure on everyone involved to not have to worry about babies crying up the aisle or getting bashful!

    I think that's a wise choice

My girlfriend had her little nephew as a ring bearer at her wedding recently. He's 3 and extremely unpredictable, like most little kids are. When it was his turn to go he threw a tantrum that interrupted everything and they had to pull him away and hope no one noticed. It's little stuff like that that you shouldn't even have to worry about.

Agree with pp. My niece is 7 almost 8 when I get married but this is her last chance to be a FGand SHE IS SO FREGGIN PUMPED!! What little girl wouldn't want to be a FG? Even though babies are totally unpredicatable and end up crying, I will say that IMO, you can never have too many flower girls. Have your cousin be the one to walk down the aisle but would it be OK to have your friend's baby be another FG and have a matching dress on and be in the pictures but doesn't HAVE to walk down the aisle? Best of both worlds? You only need one RB...but flower girls...god bless them they are so precious.
